“I am talking to a couple of car companies about being the voice of their GPS system. I think it would be good if you are looking for directions and hear my voice saying something like: “Left at the next street, no a right - you know what? Just go straight.” I probably shouldn’t do it because whichever way I go I always end up at one place: Lonely Avenue.” -Bob Dylan
“I am not a protest singer. I sing ordinary mathematical songs.”
The Times They Are A-Changin’ of the Day: Bob Dylan, killing time before a concert, was strolling through Long Branch, New Jersey, when he was stopped by police officer Kristie Buble, who was responding to a call about an “eccentric-looking old man” wandering around like a complete unknown.
From ABC News:
“I asked him what his name was and he said, ‘Bob Dylan,’ Buble said. “Now, I’ve seen pictures of Bob Dylan from a long time ago and he didn’t look like Bob Dylan to me at all. He was wearing black sweatpants tucked into black rain boots, and two raincoats with the hood pulled down over his head.
“So I said, ‘OK Bob, what are you doing in Long Branch?’ He said he was touring the country with Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp. So now I’m really a little fishy about his story. I did not know what to believe or where he was coming from, or even who he was. We see a lot of people on our beat, and I wasn’t sure if he came from one of our hospitals or something,” Buble said.Buble placed Dylan in the backseat of her patrol car and drove to his hotel to verify his identity. She was met in the hotel parking lot by her sergeant who opened the car door and said with conviction: “That’s not Bob Dylan.”
Eventually Dylan’s identity was confirmed by his handlers and he was allowed to carry on freaking out the citizens of Jersey with his “eccentricities.”

‘Fallen Princesses’ series:
The project was inspired by my observation of three-year-old girls, who were developing an interest in Disney’s Fairy tales. As a new mother I have been able to get a close up look at the phenomenon of young girls fascinated with Princesses and their desire to dress up like them. The Disney versions almost always have sad beginning, with an overbearing female villain, and the end is predictably a happy one. The Prince usually saves the day and makes the victimized young beauty into a Princess.
I explored the original brothers Grimm’s stories and found that they have very dark and sometimes gruesome aspects, many of which were changed by Disney. I began to imagine Disney’s perfect Princesses juxtaposed with real issues that were affecting women around me, such as illness, addiction and self-image issues.
